During my time at Douglass High School, I often found myself in In House School Suspension, and let’s just say I wasn’t the most motivated student. Instead of doing my assigned work, I flipped through the dictionary. That’s when I discovered words with multiple meanings, allowing me to cleverly insult people without relying on slang or profanity, but still delivering that Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle effect.
In the grand scheme of things, I learned from that experience that there are countless words out there, and it’s impossible for anyone to remember them all. Not to mention the specialized jargon in various fields like medicine and engineering. The list goes on and on. What does it mean, Dr. Tuepenz? Well, nothing, really. Words are just tools we use to communicate socially and professionally as we navigate our day-to-day lives.
When I wrote my book, “Slave Minds,” which became an Eastside Times Best Seller, I began to grasp the essence of words as vibrational frequencies. It allowed me to detach the emotions associated with words and view them as building blocks, like Lego pieces. And that’s when the idea for this blog came to me. So, you see, that’s why I intentionally misspell words and even create some of my own—because everyone else is doing it too. Thanks, Cary!

To address this issue, organizations like Dr. Tuepenz and Kelly Phillips Publishing Company are leading the way with their Literacy Revolution initiative. This movement aims to connect literacy and legacy to erase illiteracy among children and adults. We can empower individuals and build more equitable communities through programs like this.
