DO YOU TRUST YOUR DOPE?
(T) TRUST + (YD) YOUR DOPE = (CF) CONSISTENT FAITH

In this blog, I touch on one of the great lessons in one of my favorite songs from Uncle Larry June, “Consistency.”

HAVING CONSISTENT FAITH IS CHALLENGING.

One of the things people struggle with in this life is finding a purpose, then knowing how to properly pursue and execute whatever needs to be completed to attain it. This process can produce triumphant victories or devastating losses. While there are many ways to move, one constant thing never changes and is the essential key determinant of success. Faith. Which is basically a consistent belief in one’s abilities to be successful. What does that mean? Faith is an accelerator for desire. By having faith, you develop confidence and self-confidence when then translates into successful actions. Actions are something that we all do consistently. What are you doing with your actions?

While listening to Larry June’s track titled “Consistency,” I heard something that struck a chord within me. After June delivered yet another mean verse, he goes into the hook just saying the word “Consistency” over and over again. That’s subconscious programming for the listeners if you didn’t know, but that’s a tangent; let us move forward. He then goes on to say, “You gotta trust your dope.” What does that mean? Your dope is essentially you and all the things you create. If you work at Dunkin Donuts and make egg bagels with ice coffees, that’s your dope. If you’re LeBron James, then basketball is your dope, and so forth. What June was referencing was a belief in oneself to create successful habits that lead to favorable outcomes. For me, my writing is my dope; what’s yours?

Belief. I’ve said it once, and I’ll continue to repeat what was once already said, whatever you believe you are, you become. Believe in the things you can do while being aware of the things you can’t.

Self-Confidence. Once you believe in yourself, you will develop confidence in your abilities. This is key. Coach Terry Long taught me that basketball is 80% mental and 20% physical, I completely understand that now.

Successful Actions. If you believe you can do a thing, you will do it enough times until you become successful. Your actions will determine your destination and can speak louder than a word that anyone could ever utter.

Often, people look around at others and base their life on the things they can see through their human eyes. It is essential to understand that no matter who you are, you have phenomenal qualities and characteristics. At times, we all stray away from negative criticism for essentially “Doing You.” While this is this case, no one should be able to live vicariously through you. Others may appear to have a particular lifestyle, but there are always two sides to every coin. If you believe in the truth, you should have no problem letting your light shine upon the world. In the meantime, believe in yourself consistently to actualize success, and mind your phuccn’ business……ONE………………..
